Divorce Consultant for Women

More Than a Legal Case

A strong attorney can handle the legal work and still leave you carrying an enormous amount of the divorce yourself. Elise works with you one-on-one to organize what is happening, prepare for important conversations, think through difficult decisions, and stay focused on what you are trying to accomplish. When the process becomes financially complex, high-conflict, emotionally exhausting, or simply too much to keep straight alone, you have a place to bring it and work through it.

Led by Elise Iafrate, JD/MBA — a licensed attorney who stepped away from practicing law to help women navigate the strategy behind the process.

The Work Beyond Legal Representation

There Is More to Manage Than the Case

Your attorney has an important job. But divorce creates questions that do not always belong in a legal meeting. Should you respond to that message? Is this worth documenting? What does your attorney actually need to know? What should you ask before the next meeting? Which financial question belongs with your CPA or advisor? Are you making a decision because it serves your goals, or because you are exhausted and want the conflict to stop? That is the work Elise helps you sort through.

Private consulting gives you a place to slow things down, get organized, and work through what comes next:

Prepare for What Comes Next

Get your questions, documents, timeline, and priorities organized before important meetings so you walk in knowing what you need to accomplish.

Handle Conflict More Deliberately

Talk through difficult messages, recurring patterns, and high-pressure situations before reacting. Decide what needs a response, what needs documentation, and what may simply be noise.

Keep the Bigger Picture in View

Divorce can pull your attention toward whatever is loudest today. Elise helps you keep important decisions connected to your longer-term goals, finances, family, and life after divorce.

Elise's Private Divorce Consulting

One-on-One Support for the Real Decisions

Private consulting gives you a consistent place to bring the parts of divorce that do not fit neatly anywhere else. You might sit down with Elise to prepare for an attorney meeting, organize a timeline, work through a difficult communication, make sense of the professionals involved, or think through a decision before you make it under pressure.

She can also help you stay organized when attorneys, financial advisors, tax professionals, valuation experts, therapists, and other specialists are involved. You do not need to become an expert in every discipline. You need to know what questions to ask, who should answer them, and how those answers connect to your goals.

Elise’s legal background gives her context for how divorce moves through the system. Her role here is different. She has the time and perspective to work with you on the strategy, preparation, communication, and day-to-day decisions surrounding that legal process.

Private consulting engagements currently begin at $1,200 per month.

Common Questions

Common questions about working directly with Elise and how private consulting fits alongside your attorney and other professionals.
No. Elise is a licensed attorney, but Divorce Strategy by Elise is a consulting business, not a law firm. The consulting relationship does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not replace your divorce lawyer or other legal counsel.
Elise’s work is highly strategic and grounded in her legal background. There is naturally a personal and supportive side to working together because divorce is personal, but the focus is on helping you prepare, organize information, think through decisions, manage communication, and work more effectively with the professionals around your divorce. It is not therapy, and Elise does not act as your divorce attorney.
Yes. Elise can help you organize the questions, records, priorities, and professional conversations around a financially complex divorce. Legal, tax, valuation, accounting, and investment decisions remain with the appropriate professionals.
Start with a consultation. You do not need to have everything organized or know exactly what kind of help you need. Elise will learn where you are in the process, what is creating the most pressure, and what you are trying to accomplish. From there, you can decide together whether private consulting is the right fit.

Start With Where You Are

You do not need a perfect summary before reaching out. Tell Elise where things stand, what feels hardest to manage right now, and what you are trying to make clearer.

Divorce Strategy by Elise provides strategic consulting and educational content, not legal representation, therapy, financial advice, or tax advice. Questions requiring professional judgment should be handled by the appropriate qualified professional.

Our Mission

SWANS Advocacy

SWANS began as Supporting Women Against Narcissistic Spouses. Today, that mission lives inside Divorce Strategy by Elise. The work is designed to help women navigate control, manipulation, escalation, and other high-conflict dynamics with more clarity and structure.

The strategy does not depend on diagnosing a spouse. It focuses on observable conduct, useful documentation, professional preparation, and deliberate decisions.

Meet Elise

Legal Experience. A Different Kind of Support.

Elise Iafrate, JD/MBA, is a licensed attorney who intentionally stepped away from legal practice to work more directly with women navigating divorce.

She understands the legal process, but she also knows how much still falls on the client: preparation, communication, financial questions, professional coordination, and the decisions that happen outside a lawyer’s role.

Today, Elise helps women bring structure to those parts of the process, prepare for the right professional conversations, and stay focused on what matters next.
